On Tuesday 28 November, Year 8 went to Manly Dam for a fun day to celebrate the end of the year. The weather was beautiful and so was the scenery! We spoke about faith and read the story of Peter’s lack of faith in Jesus when He came out to the disciples’ boat walking across the water (Matthew 14:22-36). Students were encouraged to trust in Jesus as God’s Son and Lord of creation.
They were then given a list of items to find and photograph, and some tricky questions to answer. See if you can work out what the flower symbol stands for and name the native flower pictured below. The final challenge was to try to float (walk) on water themselves. They had to construct a flotation device that could carry one person using the items in their Scavenger Hunt bags. This was great fun and of course involved getting wet! It was a lovely day for students and teachers.
A big thank you to Mrs Chapman, Mr Au-Yeung, Mr Hill, Mrs Benfield, Mr Zalai and Mrs Stanwell for joining us.
