In Year 6 Extension & Enrichment this term, students have been delving deeper into the Science theme of cells. They have been researching microbiology,
the world of diseases and how blood works. The students have spent many hours researching an interest at the cellular level then presenting to their
To conclude the unit, students were allowed to visit a High School lab, and complete with lab coats and protective glasses, spend time looking at a variety
of cells under microscopes. They looked at everything from blood to plant to bacteria cells.
Emma described her experience as follows: ‘Yesterday we went to the science lab and we got to look through the microscopes. My favourite one was the muscle
cells because I really liked the interesting pattern they had in the middle.’
The kids are loving Science and hope we have many young professors, lab technicians, scientists and doctors in the future!
