Kym Bridges attended Covenant Christian School from Kindergarten to Year 12 (class of 2001) and is now a parent at Covenant with children in Junior School
In her full interview with us, Kym reflected that she felt nurtured and cared for when she was at school, and wanted the same for her own children.
She shared with us about choosing a school, and the things that have confirmed their decision to send their children here.
Kym is also related to Covenant’s first teacher, Jan (Goodwin) Bridges; Kym describes Jan as passionate about her faith, Christian Education and the
All Blacks! Jan’s advocacy for Christian Education really made an impression on Kym and was instrumental in their family’s decision to come to Covenant.
Jan firmly believed that school should be an extension of what is taught at home. She also felt that starting children in Christian Education in their
early years was crucial as these years shape their world view.
Kym explains how Covenant may have changed in appearance since her student days, but the way that Christ is central to the school is still the same.
Here is some of her story.
