We see the lovely face of Mrs Gilbert in the newsletter every week, so we thought it was time to get to know her a little better.
Tell us about your family. I've been married to Tom for 31 years; we have four adult children, 1 son-in-law and two gorgeous daughters-in-law and
two grandbaby girls (the joy of our lives).
What does a careers advisor do? They give students guidance so that they are able to make informed decisions, based on careers information,
self-knowledge and the opportunities available. They help to clarify student's objectives for the future and take appropriate action.
When and why should a student come to see you? Students generally see me from Year 10 onwards. Some of the things they see me about include
future career options, subject selections, courses, apprenticeships, school concerns, work experience, TAFE subjects etc.
How does a student and/or parent contact you? Students are able to email me or drop into my office and make an appointment. Parents can
either ring or email me.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard? “Be kind; everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”
What job would you be terrible at? Anything number related.
What movie title best describes your life? 27 Dresses (self-confessed fashion addict)
What do you rate 10/10? A holiday at the snow or the beach.
