As Preschool children were about to go home at the end of Term 3 a parent excitedly called out to us saying there’s a real echidna in the preschool.
‘Really!’ we said. When we went out to investigate, there it was, trying to bury itself into our balance boards. Good thing Mr Oldfield was arriving
soon as he would know what to do.
All the children gathered around very quietly to have a look. Then Mr Oldfield arrived and asked Mrs Ming for a towel and a box. He thought that he
would take it to a vet to have it given the once over and then release it somewhere close. (Mr Oldfield is a WIRES member and is qualified to care
for our Australian animals.)
