Parents of children from Kindergarten to Year 12 must ensure their children attend school every day. On occasion, your child may need to be absent from
school. Justified reasons for student absences may include:
- being sick or having an infectious disease
- having an unavoidable medical appointment
- being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
- exceptional or urgent family circumstances e.g. attending a funeral
- extended leave for travel purposes (application form for 5 days or more to be completed)
Parents must provide an explanation for absences to the school within 7 days from the first day of any period of absence. Where an explanation has not
been received within the 7-day timeframe, the school will record the absence as unjustified on the student’s record. Absent notes can be downloaded
from the Letters/Forms/Policies section of our website.
Operation Christmas Child 2018
It’s that time of year again when we start collecting for Operation Christmas Child. 150 boxes have arrived for us to fill! This project seeks to provide
aid in a small but practical way to help many children who are victims of poverty, natural disasters, war and conflict. Since 1993, this Samaritan’s
Purse project has shared the Good News of God’s love with hurting children through the simplest of gifts - shoe boxes!
The idea is to fill a shoe box with the “6 Somethings”:
- Something to love
- Something to play with
- Something for school
- Something of personal hygiene
- Something to wear
- Something special
Please do not include items that leak, food items, or used or damaged goods in the boxes. The boxes can be collected from the Junior Library. K-2 children
will need a note (or email) from their parents before they are able to collect a box. For further information please go to https://www.samaritanspurse.org.au/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/
. Remember to pray for the children who will receive
your shoebox gifts.
