Year 4 had a wonderful time on our recent excursion. Our first stop was the Australian Museum where we got up close and personal with spiders, marvelling
at their size and movement. We were lucky enough to see a female funnel web up close! We also explored other areas of the museum: choosing our favourite
gem stones, patting animal specimens and enjoying the immense size of the dinosaur skeletons. Some of us could have spent all day there!
After a beautiful lunch in Hyde Park, we set off to the Hyde Park Barracks to see firsthand how convicts lived. We learnt about their jobs, daily
lives, the crimes and the convicts who committed them. We felt sorry that such small crimes had such a huge impact on their lives. Our favourite part
was resting in the replica hammocks, although we decided that in the middle of winter it would not be so fun!
Thank you so much to the parents who joined us. We loved spending the day with you.
